How Our Summus Class 4 Laser Works and Its Biological Effects

Our Office uses the Summus Horizon, which is a high-powered Class IV laser that uses photobiomodulation to stimulate healing at the cellular level.

Unlike lower-class lasers, the Summus Horizon is uniquely designed to target four distinct biological structures simultaneously using four specific wavelengths of light.

How the Summus Horizon Laser Works

It interacts with cells to trigger the following biological responses By utilizing 4 different wavelengths.:

Wavelength 650nm (Superficial Receptors): Targets surface receptors to accelerate skin-level healing and cellular regeneration.

Wavelength 810nm (Mitochondria): This is the "powerhouse" wavelength. It is absorbed by the mitochondria to dramatically increase the production of ATP (cellular energy), which speeds up the repair of damaged tissue.

Wavelength 915nm (Hemoglobin): which enhances the delivery of oxygen to the treated area by interacting with hemoglobin in the blood, which further fuels the healing process and reduces pain.

Wavelength 980nm (Water in Blood): Absorbed by water in the blood to improve local circulation and lymphatic drainage, effectively flushing out inflammatory waste products and reducing swelling.

Key Benefits

Rapid Pain Relief

By blocking pain signals and stimulating the release of endorphins (natural painkillers), many feel relief after just one 5–10 sessions.

Deep Tissue Penetration

With power levels up to 24–28 watts, it reaches deep-seated joint and muscle issues that standard "cold lasers" cannot.

Reduced Inflammation

It inhibits inflammatory mediators, which reduces the swelling and stiffness often associated with arthritis.

Non-Invasive & Drug-Free

The treatment is a safe alternative to surgery or long-term medication, with patients typically feeling only a soothing, warm sensation during the procedure.

These Key Features Cause the Following Biological Effects

Accelerated tissue repair and cellular growth. Laser exposure. Causes. Cells of tendons, ligaments and muscles to repair faster.

Faster wound healing. Reduces Fibrous tissue formation. Examples. Burns. Post surgical wounds. Cuts, Scars.

Anti inflammation. It causes vasodilation and increase in blood flow. Inactivates drainage of swollen areas.

Anti pain. (Analgesic) It has a high effect on nerve cells and blocks pain transmission.

Improved vascular activity. Increases the formation of new capillaries to damaged tissue. Increases the healing process. Close his wounds quickly.

Increased metabolic activity. Damaged cells can repair faster. Improved nerve function. Improves the process of nerve cell reconnection Increases. The potential of the muscle action reduces nerve pain.

Immunoregulation. *They become activated and begin producing ATP, which serves as the energy source for cells. * Which forms all healing reactions.

Assists in trigger points and acupuncture points. By decreasing pain at these regions.
